The Summer I turned Pretty, by Jenny Han is one of the best summer reads of all time! I can't say enough about this book. Unlike a lot of teen romance books that i've read, this book has a unique and truly real feel to it; it doesn't feel fake. From the first page on I was attached to the characters and found myself feeling like I actually knew them. Though this book might seem cheesy, and I'm probably making it out like it's cheesy, it's really not. It has an honesty to it that most books seem to lack and that's what makes it such an amazing read and impossible to put down. This book is perfect for sitting on the beach in the summer reading; as i'm writing this I can just see myself in my swimsuit, with the sun beating down on me and a slight breeze going with the sound of the waves ever present in the air, reading this book; it's the best book you could possibly read on summer vacation. I don't say this with a lot of books but this book I can see myself reading again and again, it's just that type of book. Usually once I've read a book I can't re-read it, even if it's a good book, just because I know what happens and so I don't find it fun to read any more. With this book however I've found that each time you re-read it you get something more out of it, and it doesn't matter if you know the end of the book because that's not what makes the book amazing. Really all you have to do is read it and you'll get what I mean. So ya, to sum this all up, read the book!
